Regional Dialogue on Financing Energy Efficiency

A ten member delegation nominated by Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS) has successfully participated in a Regional Dialogue on Financing Energy Efficiency held in Goa, India from 18 to 20 September 2013. The regional dialogue also participated by representatives from Bangladesh and India was organized by German Development Cooperation - GIZ, India on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) under the Regional Energy Efficiency Programme (REEP). During the event, focused on opportunity and challenges in financing the energy efficiency initiatives, the participants gained insights on the experiences on various initiatives related to financing of energy efficiency in the region. The delegation from Nepal included representatives from Ministry of Energy (MoE), Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS), Nepal Bureau of Standard and Metrology (NBSM), Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (APEC), Nepal Banker’s Association (NBA), Clean Energy Development Bank (CEDB). Besides, a representative each from EEC-FNCCI and GIZ Nepal has also participated in the event.
